Perfect for travelers, runners, or anyone who doesn’t feel like carrying a separate travel purse or bag, MagSafe phone wallets offer a secure solution for carrying your most important cards. These slim-fit wallets attach to the back of a MagSafe case—or strongly magnetized device—and are a convenient solution for people traveling light. We tested a range of MagSafe wallets over this past season, evaluating how well they stayed attached to our phones, card and cash capacity, and materials. We also made sure the cards were easy to insert and remove, and that we felt confident the wallets wouldn’t spontaneously fall off our phones.

I’ve been using MagSafe wallets for travel, remote work, and in-town excursions since I put a MagSafe case on my phone a few years ago. I currently have three MagSafe wallets in rotation, including the Peak Designs Stand Wallet (one of our top picks below) and two affordable models from Smartish, their Slim Vegan Leather and Side Hustle.

We put some of the best MagSafe wallets on the market to the test, with Pelican’s convenient and secure MagSafe Wallet for iPhone coming out on top thanks to its combination of durability, security, and flip-open design that allows for easy access.

Best Overall

Pelican Magnetic Wallet & Card Holder

  • The unique side closure feels extra secure.

What to Consider

  • The case can feel a little bulky in a tight pants pocket.

Our top pick comes from a brand we’ve long trusted to protect our phones, and now it protects our cards as well. Pelican’s Protector MagSafe Wallet attached securely to our phones (as long as we used a MagSafe case) and didn’t once wiggle out of place. It does take a bit of force to remove, but we’d rather have to work harder than worry about it falling off on the go. It’s maintained its magnetic force for our entire testing period, and the durable materials haven't shown signs of wear and tear.

This is a somewhat unique design, with a side-hinge closure that opens to reveal a money clip on one side and a slot for holding up to three cards on the other side. This makes the Pelican one of the better MagSafe wallets for carrying both cash and cards, and we appreciate the reliable latch closure similar to the clasps used on Pelican’s dry boxes. This added security does make it a little bulkier than the more streamlined wallets on our list, but it’s not a dealbreaker for us.

Best for Apple Users

Apple FineWoven iPhone Wallet with MagSafe

  • The rounded edges are easy to slide into tight pockets, and it has a nicely sleek profile.

What to Consider

  • Underfilling this wallet (carrying just two cards) leaves them prone to falling out.

Despite a lot of tossing around, we were never able to make Apple’s FineWoven Wallet budge from its magnetic hold. Despite this, it was still fairly easy to remove when we wanted to, and the listed three-card capacity was accurate. We tested this with a few different combos, including three cards, two cards and a folded bill, and then just two cards. While the max capacity combinations felt secure, our two-card test failed and the cards fell out when we shook it, which is good to keep in mind.

This wallet doesn’t have a top lid or closure system, so we recommend carrying three cards for security, and we did love the thumb hole opening on the back to help push the cards out when they felt tight. Aside from the open edge, this wallet received positive feedback, and has a nice soft material that feels high quality and sturdy. The edges are smooth and didn’t get caught on our pants pocket, and aside from a few scuff marks at the edges, it’s still in really good shape.

Casetify Custom MagSafe Wallet

Credit: Casetify $38 at Amazon View on Casetify.com Why We Love It

  • We love the slim build and plenty of fun design options.

What to Consider

  • Cards are easy to insert in the wallet, but removing them is a bit tricky.

Similar to the Pelican, Casetify’s wallet feels quite difficult to intentionally remove from your phone case, which we were grateful for during chaotic errands. We were only able to fit two cards into this wallet, and while we appreciate the slim design, it would be nice to have more capacity. However, the cards are incredibly secure once they’re in there, and even shaking the phone upside down didn’t release them.

The designs and characters are wide-ranging and eye-catching, with plenty of options for people looking for a fun accessory for their phone without committing to carrying a full purse or wallet. Overall, we’d love to see some sort of side release or thumb opening in future iterations, as the difficulty removing the cards makes us less likely to choose this compared to more user-friendly designs.

ESR MagSafe Wallet

  • The convertible stand option is reliable and convenient.

What to Consider

  • This wallet is on the bulky side, and can be tough to fit into form-fitting pockets.

The ESR Magnetic Wallet does a little bit of everything for a very reasonable price. With just one adjustment, this handy wallet turns into a sturdy phone stand that can display both portrait and landscape orientation. It also holds three cards quite securely and during our test—when we took it out nearly 20 times—we never had an issue with it detaching.

This wallet also feels robust enough to carry on its own, which means that it feels a little too big for tight pockets when it’s attached to a phone with a bulkier case. We love that it comes in multiple (vegan) leather color options, though it has a bit of a 2010 folding phone-wallet vibe to the design. Since this is our top budget-friendly pick, don’t expect quite the amount of longevity as some of the higher-end wallets in our guide, but it’s held up quite well during our test so far.

Maison de Sabre Leather MagSafe Wallet

  • The magnetic strength is well balanced, and takes just the right amount of force to remove.

What to Consider

  • You have to take one card out at a time, which can be a bit of a process.

We’ve used this wallet for everything from grocery runs to public transit to events and loved the sleek design and utility when traveling light. We put this to the test on phones with and without cases, and usually carried three cards at a time. The wallet stays attached well, and while it does come off easier than others on this list, it feels like the right amount of force for security without annoyance.

This is a well-made phone wallet with a minimalist aesthetic and no bells and whistles, but high-quality materials and a low-key design that doesn’t scream utility. This is our pick for a designer-esque splurge, and while most people don’t need to spend much on a three-card MagSafe wallet, this is a great option for those looking for premium phone accessories. The only thing we would tweak is a tab for helping get the lower cards out of the wallet. As it is, we had trouble accessing all three and had to pull them out one at a time.

PopSockets PopWallet+ for MagSafe

  • The convenience of the attached PopSocket is like a two-for-one.

What to Consider

  • The finish rubs off fairly quickly.

Most of us know PopSockets for their convenient line of phone case grippers and compatible accessories. This takes it to the next step, with the PopSocket attached to a MagSafe wallet that comes with a handy push-opening to help release your cards. The polycarbonate is durable and impact-resistant, which we appreciated when we knocked our phone off the counter during the test period. PopSocket also offers an adhesive-backed wallet with the PopSocket attachment, though we had some issues with the adhesive and would recommend the MagSafe first.

This wallet impressed us with the durability of the moving parts and the utility of the attached PopSocket, and is our pick for anyone used to the trendy silicone grippers and doesn’t want to lose them with the use of a MagSafe wallet. We did notice some degrading finish on our test model, which is unfortunate since the wear and tear makes it look older than it is.

Best Convertible Stand

Peak Design Mobile Wallet Stand

The 7 Best MagSafe Wallets of 2025, Tested and Reviewed

Credit: Amazon $60 at Amazon View on Peakdesign.com Why We Love It

  • This wallet matches Peak Designs’ cases, and functions as a convertible phone stand.

What to Consider

  • The textured nylon canvas looks great, but can get grimy easily.

I have had multiple editions of this Peak Designs Mobile Wallet Stand and have been impressed every time. I pair the Stand Wallet with a Peak Designs MagSafe case, which is convenient for accessories like my car mount, MagSafe charging station, and two different bike mounts. I have to remove the wallet when I use the other MagSafe accessories, but it’s so portable and secure that I don’t mind zipping it into a bike bag or pocket.

Like my other Peak Designs accessories, this stays in place extremely well, and is quite slim considering it holds up to seven cards and has a phone stand function. I use the phone stand feature to reference recipes while cooking, or on my tray table on a flight without a seatback TV. My only gripe is that the wallet (like my phone case) gets grimy pretty quickly and is difficult to wipe off.

Our Testing Process

To test the MagSafe wallets on this list, we logged our initial impressions out of the box, then followed up with durability in function, appearance, and magnet strength after the testing periods. We evaluated how easy the cards were to insert and remove from the wallets, how well the wallets stayed in place during use, and if the magnets stayed strong despite high usage frequency. We took these wallets on trips, to the grocery store, gym, and used them as prop-up stands, and then reported on who we think each model would be best for. We will continue testing these wallets for a period of time after this guide publishes, and we will update pending their final feedback.

Tips for Buying a MagSafe Wallet

Know how much you want to carry

Most MagSafe phone wallets can hold between three to four cards, with a few models carrying up to 10. We didn’t include any of the latter on this list because those wallets tend to be bulkier, and we were prioritizing travel-friendly models. However, for your own shopping, consider the number of cards you use on a daily basis (especially your license, credit card, and debit card) and if you’d like to also carry cash. Most people will be fine with an ID, credit card, and space for cash, but if you typically carry more cards, pick a wallet with a higher capacity.

Prioritize durable materials

Every wallet we tested and listed has held up well during our test period, though the higher-end wallets made with more premium materials will cost more. In this case, we think it’s ok to splurge on a nicer wallet, as the durability of the magnet, surface material, and any attachment points will be stronger in a nicer model and will keep your ID and credit cards safer. We listed a range of materials from faux leather to polycarbonate to nylon canvas, and all are reinforced on surface and seams. If you think you’ll be in an environment where your wallet will get wet or be in the elements, consider a fully enclosed plastic or poly case instead of an open leather or nylon option.

Consider additional security features

For people traveling abroad or who find themselves in less secure locations, an additional layer of protection in an RFID-equipped model might not be a bad idea. Wallets with this designation are made with a thin layer of carbon fiber or aluminum, which works to block electromagnetic signals from your credit cards and can prevent them from being skimmed wirelessly. Otherwise, if you’re prone to dropping your phone upside down, a full-closure case like our top-rated Pelican will be your best bet.
